Douce France Sailing Catamaran

Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost drew her lines, and a 2025 refit brought the 1998 boat up to date. Douce France is a 138ft (42m) sailing catamaran from Alumarine, the only yacht by that yard on our books.

Water toys

Eleven toys come with her, and the best of them work below the surface: scuba and snorkelling gear, so guests can swim down rather than watch from the top. Fishing tackle is aboard too. A Suex jet ski takes a single rider, a banana and a donut tow behind, and water skis, a wakeboard, a surfboard, a windsurfer and a kayak cover the rest, while her beach tender runs guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Tahiti, in French Polynesia, is home port for Douce France. She cruises French Polynesia and Fiji, and her range carries on to New Caledonia, Indonesia and Thailand. New Zealand and Australia are within it as well. All of it is island water, which gives her anchorages to swim from.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep twelve guests overnight, and by day she can carry eighteen. A crew of seven runs her, the cabins are air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi reaches through the yacht.

Comfort under way

Under sail she makes 9 knots, with 19 knots at her top end, and her calendar peaks in January, February and December. Two hulls give her wide, flat deck space to spread out on.

Charter notes

She suits two couples sharing her or a family, and divers most of all: with the diving gear already aboard, a week's hire can be built around what is over the side.
